Shannon Washington

Hospital Success Content Specialist

Meet Shannon Washington, one of our amazing Hospital Success Content Specialists here at Patient Guide Solutions.

Shannon has been an integral part of the company for 13 years, bringing her collaborative spirit to a wide range of roles. When the opportunity arose to step into a new content role that bridged the gap between current and prospective client experiences, Shannon jumped at the chance.

“I get to work with all the people,” she said. “The position came up to work with hospitals. I took a chance on it and I've loved it ever since.”

Expertise and Client Focus

Shannon’s deep knowledge of our content library, combined with her understanding of how clients use our content to enhance the patient experience nationwide, makes her ideally positioned to recommend the perfect content to help our hospitals meet their goals.

“I have conversations about their needs and priorities, and then say, ‘I have an article for that! Let me recommend something,’” Shannon explained.

From Retail to Content Specialist

Before joining Patient Guide Solutions (then Patient Point), Shannon’s career spanned various industries, including retail and a cable company.

“I have always been intrigued by marketing and communications,” she said. That interest naturally translated into her early roles at PGS, where she worked in sales and as an ad copy manager supporting our advertising partners.

Supporting Hospitals From Coast-to-Coast

Today, Shannon thrives in her role supporting hospital clients across the country.

“I'm working with the hospitals and meeting people all over,” she said. “It's always new. It’s so good to see the different cultures we help. We're a melting pot, and I enjoy it.”

Building Lasting Relationships

One aspect of her job that Shannon particularly values is the lasting relationships she forms with clients.

“I’ll get text messages from clients. I’ll make LinkedIn connections and Facebook friends from just having those relationships,” she shared.

For Shannon, these connections are not just professionally fulfilling — they’re an opportunity to lighten her clients’ workloads.

“Having that relationship really helps them,” she said. “I can see where the stress is and step in so they don't have to scramble to get content together. If we can do a lot of it for them, they're very appreciative of it.”

Seeing Projects Through to Completion

For Shannon, seeing a project through from conception to delivery is a source of particular pride.

“Since I have the broad scope of seeing the product from ads to content design, and seeing print happening, it’s so satisfying to watch things go from the first conversations to out the door and on the FedEx truck,” she said. “It’s the best thing. I was able to work on this. I remember when it started. Look what we created, and there it goes.”

Fun Fact: Shannon Shares Her Birthday with the King of Rock 'n Roll
